Last winter I had the check engine light and reduce power issue with my 08 from snow dust in my intake and allowing moisture to hit the AMF sensor. When this would happen I would have no boost readings on the insight and would happen frequently and become very annoying.
I got the new "smaller" cold front from the dealer at no charge and have installed that for this winter but have not driven in ant snoiw yet this season but will be shortly. What is the "REAL" fix for this issue? I have no issue buying a a different intake if it will take care of the issue but don't want to spend any money that won't help.
Any help is much appreciated.

Only fix I seen was to drill about 6 1" holes in the airbox. But I think they have stopped that. I have seen a change in the aluminum cast body too for some reason and thought this was why. it relocated the sensor but that would be the MAP one and not the MAF.

I meant the MAP sensor not the maf. The MAP sensor get messed up and that is why my insight read no booste and the cel comes on.

The map was relocated to prevent it from freezing up. The new intake tube relocated it closer to the engine to absorb some of its heat.
I live in wisconsin and regularly drive in heavy snow. With the front grill cover on I have NEVER had a air filter plug up or any kind of cold weather issues. Seems every single person ive ran into, i including my boss, have only had filter issues if they didnt have the engine cover on.

i had snow issues a year ago and i had my winter front on. I did the PPE airbox mod which is simply removing the vanes frome the fender side of the box which allows it to pull some warm air from under the hood as well as air through the fender. I haven't had any trouble yet.

Last year I had the winter front that covered the entire front end but had to take it off for pulling cause the tranny would get cooked if left on. The smaller on was on backorder for all of last winter and I didn't get it until last april, after winter was over.
I will try the ppe mod if the problem happens again this winter.
Thanks for the help.
