seeing a bunch of post on removing the resignator from guys with lots of mods. My truck is bone stock on the performance end. intake and such down the road. would it do any good for me to remove my resignator now? throw any codes?
thanks
Nope, won't make a difference. I took mine off to see if it would make the turbo louder. I didn't notice anything. I have read in other threads of guys stating the seam in the plastic could crack over time and suck in dirty air. I did noitce a slight increase in turbo sound when I installed the LBZ MP.

A few developed cracks in the resonator so many people, like my self, capped it. It did not throw any codes. It just allowed dirt and junk into your engine.

thanks. with me being in the woods or on the farm hunting it sounds logical! anything you would recommend to cap it with?

I picked up a rubber pipe cap and a band clamp seems to do the trick, your looking for 2inch in size.

I removed the res and plugged it. My truck sounds like it is breathing hard when I get on it, or if you pop the hood you can hear the intake breathing hard core. Is this because everything else is bone stock? just paranoid about breaking some things so close to the holidays3
thanks

Yeah pretty much. You need to free up the exhaust and block your EGR which might require a Finger Stick or a tuner that blocks the codes. Also a LBZ mouth piece helps air flow as well. On the other hand if it works don't be in a rush. Do it after the holidays.

I used a 2" plumbers plug. Get one with metal if possible.

I went to the hardware store and got the 2" test plug. I did drill a hole in the plug like most to keep the metal parts from falling into the turbo inlet. I then reinstalled the resignator to keep it looking stock. You cannot see the aFe Bladerunner under it.

I did the same thing.
