Im still not sure yet if im gonna get the muffler cut off, for warranty reasons, but i was wondering if I could remove the tailpipe from the 4 bolts under the cab with out having to do any cutting? any probelms with this, i want my exhaust to keep the factory look when i put it back on, some of my friends have did exhaust work and the tailpipe is either slanted up or down or sticking out to far, i dont want that, so would i be alright running like this for a while

Jack up the right rear of the truck by the frame. Remove the upper shock bolt and let the shock hang down. The exhaust will come out with out cutting.

It will resonate pretty loudly under the truck that way though. Mine was way louder that way than when I installed the tailpipe.

i assume that 4 bolt flange has a gasket, will it it ruin it if removed? The local exhaust shops told me i could come and look through their bins for some old exhaust for free, so im thinkin about tryin to find one and cut the muffler off of it that way if i ever do have to take it to the dealer i can just swap the exhaust from the flange back

Mine came off in one piece, but I would still use a new one.

The gasket looks like sorta half steel, I removed and re-installed mine a few times with no problems. It doesn't leak. I would suppose you are ok... Besides if it did leak it would be easy later to pull the 4 nuts off and slip a gasket in.
