Well Last few weeks ive noticed that my truck has been making some odd noise from the bellhousing area. I have the hypertech set to 90 hp and when i shift her hard i get a chirp, and it aint from the tires. I hear about the DMF rattling or grinding, but not chirping as this is. I was wondering if it was possibly the clutch just beginning to slip, or if it is the DMF makin noise.

When mine failed (read that as 2 failed) they would growl/rattle when the clutch was partially pushed in. With the clutch out everthing was fine.

Ben;
the chirp is likely the clutch slip when shiftin hard and fast. I would recommend turning the chip down and not pushin the shiftin so hard, otherwise you will smoke the clutch, which is pretty weak and skinny. eventually your DMF will growl and rattle at idle with the clutch out. Right now there are no aftermarked SMF available though I have read on some threads about some guys trying to develop some. DMF has never worked well on any diesel truck. There is really no reason to upgrade the clutch/pressure plate until a decent flywheel is available.
I have a SMF and dual disc clutch since Nov and it works fine but chirps when I shift. The guy who makes/sells them is impossible to get to ship it. Just take it easy as you can and see what develops over time in the aftermarket. Someone will surely come up with a replacement.
