I see many times questions on Allison issues and they always seem to easily pull the P0700 code but many need to be able to pull the code off the TCM to see what is really going on. So its hard to tell someone to find a reader or programmer that can read it. So i figure it be a good sticky that list the code readers or programmers with Make, Brand, Version, possible where purchased, average on cost, and any other details like if limited to canbus or not, that will read TCM codes.

All I know that does work Is
EFILive Flashscan V1 for non canbus OBDII interfaces. I think limited to GM only.
EFILive Flashscan V2 for Canbus and older OBDII interfaces. I think limit to GM only.

Anybody that can add to the list that be great help for others in buying something that be more practical and more useful for our trucks and other vehicles. Then once it is created a good list a Mod create a Sticky listing them and placing in both Allison sections.

Thanks to all that help.

My Snap On MT2500 works for 2005 down Duramax trucks, but it might read 2006 up with a CAN1B adapter (I don't have). When I need to read codes on 2006 up Duramax trucks, I use the rental Scanner from my local Autozone. It is an Actron CP9175. Autozone charges $150 that is refunded when I return it. The Actron reads the transmission codes for the Allison. I have used it on many trucks to fix the Allison trans problems. I tried it today on a 2001, 2005, and 2006 and was able to read trans codes on all of them.

Thanks for adding to the list. I hear the Snap On ones work but did not know any models.
