Thanks in advance. I have a 2006 2500HD "LLY" 2 wheel drive. I want to change my front, rear differential and Transfer case fluids. I am looking for quantities and types. I have read the sticky about Amsoil and recommondations but that doesn't agree with the my manual. Just want other opinions before I tackle this project. Again any help would be great. BTW this is a great forum.

if you want to stick to the manual go to the dealership and buy there products. I know some corvette people that dont want to ever splurge away from the manual either.
but here it goes
rear diff: 4 quarts
front diff: a little more than 2 quarts i believe
transfer case: 2 qts.
75w-90 gear lube in front in rear. i think they call for synthetic.
ATF fluid in the transfer case
the brand really dont matter. oil is oil as long as it you dont run it too long. keep it changed and pretty much anything will work. I myself run amsoil. i just like the oil. if i didnt run amsoil i would run lucas. thats just me though

Unless something is off, you do not have a transfer case or front diff. That leaves just a rear diff.
I'm guessing it is the same as the 4wd rear end which means gl5 75-90 or 75-110 if you tow.
I went with Mobil 1 Synth GL5 75w-90. We tow some during the summer, but not too much.

I would go with the AMSOIL 75W90 for the diff's The stealership charges $31.00 a Qrt. or use AMSOIL @ about $11.00 a Qrt. AAM install Synthetic oil anyways.

Agree with the 75/90 gear lube. The 110 is an option if you do a fair amount of towing and you'd like just a tad more viscosity there. Not required, just a perk:)

What do you consider a fair amount of towing how many miles per year and the weight that you pull. I use 75w-90 servere gear in both front and rear diff's and tow about 12000 lbs. and somewhere around 3000k a year.
