Lost high speed on blower motor. Replaced resistor and does the same thing. I can feel a click at the resistor when I go from speed 4 to 5 and the fan quits completely. Am I looking at a blower motor, or a switch?? Thanks.

I know the older trucks used a separate relay for the blower high speed mode. This bypasses the resistor circuit entirely. You may want to check for this relay.

you should have a fuse under the hood just for the high speed.

mine also does this but its weird, its been extremely cold here the past week and i start it up and the blower no work on high, but after its warm i can switch it to 5 and it works great, any ideas there.

To the OP, underhood BLWR fuse 40amp, IIRC.
The the last guy, bad relay on the resistor module, or melted plug or both.

Im taking my truck in to have that looked at Tomorrow. What would cause the fuse to blow? isnt that going to be an on going problem if it happened once?

Finally found problem. bad connection in the female plug to the resistor. No major signs of melting but it was not making good connection. Replaced connector and all is good. Except the wallet. $97 for new connector and female pins!!!:mad:

Very common problem on these trucks.

Greg sells that plug (with pigtail wires) for some ungodly stupid amount.
