: Reinstalling oil cooler lines

I'm going to be putting my oil cooler lines back in as soon as I have them fixed and wondered about a couple things first.

1) Are there any tips for doing this, as the removal was pretty tight and could not see most of what I was doing? I removed them one at a time and wrote down which one I removed first, as well as noted the two clamps.

2) The two connectors going into the block - should I remove them and replace them, or at least reseal them with new teflon tape? Is there a specific position they need to be in when fully tight (in order for the clips to work)? Are there O-rings that I should replace while they're out? Already replaced all three on the oil filter adapter.

1) if i recall correctly, install the line that goes to the rearmost fitting on the block first. it works quicker to hold the line and snake it over the oil pan from right to left and insert it into press fitting. If you tweaked the clips in the least replace them. heck, just replace them, piece of mind. you have to clock/install the clips correctly first before inserting the male end of the oil cooler line.

2) apparently those must be replaced entirely if faulty, but i figured a new o-ring could be installed. mine were dry when i did the messy job, so i just cleaned them and used new clips and put the new lines in.

I installed brand new OE lines, but hey, i wanted to do the job a little quickly with a part i knew would fit and the last lines lasted 50k miles.
