I have a 2004 3500 dually and I have heard some talk about a 3500hd. What is the difference or is there even one? How can I tell which one I have. It does have the heavy duty trailering package but that seems rather obvios since it is a one ton truck. I have a buddy who has a 05 and his truck does sit about two inches higher. This leads me to another question why do some of these trucks come from the factory sitting taller than others. What is different from the factory to get the higher ride I really like the look better than mine. Do they just crank up the bars or is there more to it than that?
You are right they don't make a 3500HD right now:D

The 2500 and 2500HD difference was in the GVWR. Maybe the 3500HD will carry slightly more GVWR?? Just a guess.

The 3500HD was a 2wd chassis cab truck, no box. 10 bolt 19.5" wheels. It looked just like a regular pickup except for the extra tall bumper filler between the bumper and grill, it was like 6" tall instead of an 1".

in the older (pre '98) trucks the 3500HD also had a straight front axle
