PPE all the way!!!!!! I only run mine on lvl 2 90 horse and actually gained 1-3mpg. I bought mine from Alligator Performance, I called them and ordered over the phone. Ten minutes after hanging up I recieved an email stating it was shipped and when I got home two days later it was there!! I had to take mine in to the dealer one day and returned it to stock, they reflashed the ECM even though I told them not to and when I went to reload the tune my truck was dead in water at 5p (my time) with a major meeting the next day at work. I had mulitiple phones calls with Alligator and they walked me thru everything until I had it running again!! Their customer service is outstanding! **** Read the procedures and follow them correctly!!

Not knocking PPE, just depends on what you want to spend and what you are trying to accomplish. I wanted to be able to tow and daily drive it with the same program without having to have to relearn the tranny and I didn't want to have to worry about the tranny taking too much abuse, I bought a Hypertech and have been very satisfied, I have it in level three all the time, got a milage improvement plus the ability to read codes if necessary, the hypertech is also a little more inexpensive. Have a good day.

PPE is an excellent option to go with as is the Edge Evolution or Evolution Race. Both units will have great power and improved mileage. The Edge unit will have a monitor with gauges, safety features, etc. If you have any questions, feel free to give me a holler.

i went with the bully dog power pup, and i m very happy with the power i run it on extreme ever day 130hp and the tranny is already acting up at 103,000 but a built one is in the future, now my uncle runs the superchips and performance with a built tranny and is very happy. its all in how much power you really want to have. a superchips aint much but its the safest to run, just rember that a stock allison can only handle bout an extra 100 hp with out limpin

stock trans and 100 hp is pushing it, if he is just looking for a bit of power and mileage 30-50 is plenty, a boat is really no load. i havent been totally happy with my edge race but i would recommend buying one because even running a small tune egts get out of hand easily, this way you can monitor them without paying a huge price.

if you don't have gauges getting edge race will be better. then you can monitor the egt, boost, and etc.

I love running my PPE Xcellerator on the 90 hp tune. It's a nice boost of power and a few MPG's gained at the same time. I might upgrade to EFI Live one day though, I hear they let you change just about anything in the trucks ECM.

Love my Edge EVO and you can't beat the built in gauges and turbo brake. Not really any improved fuel mileage though. Maybe a little on the highway since I can see 20+ but I still average about 16+.

Hi yessirre,

I use the EDGE. I'm not into racing, burning my tires off, trying for top speed or accelleration, or damaging my truck. I do like improved power and MPG. I get Both. I used the same type EDGE unit on my 02 Ford SuperDuty 7.3 for years before this, with excellent results too.

I got the EDGE due to the Guages, Safety Features, "On the Fly" changability, ease of intall & placement, and lastly - because my wife drives this truck when we travel and pull our Trailer - she's mechanically impaired - and so it's easier and safer for her to drive, while getting the benefits of increased power.

If you're the only driver - then get whatever you feel best with.

The Edge CTS Race.... The all in one package.. Monitors & have an optional backup camera. Has the turbo brake for towing & if you do not have to much fun does increase your mileage.

Please correct me if I am wrong but it seems like the order of power goes -
1. EFI Live
2. PPE ...
3. Edge ...

EFI is real complicated and you probably got to have someone who knows what they are doing to sell you a tune.

PPE has preloaded tunes and is relatively cheap but like EFI, it doesn't give you real time info i.e. you got to buy/install gauges.

Edge has the tunes and monitoring at your finger tips, maybe not as much potential power as the other two, but you might still have to install probes like and EGT probe to hook into your system.

Like I said correct me if I am wrong if you know, also, does anyone know if PPE has a throttle killer/protector when changing gears? I am leaning towards PPE and a pod stack.
