i have a 1999 ford 7.3 diesal and my battery light erraticaly comes on. sometimes it will just flicker,and sometimes it will stay on. i have checked the alternater with a bench test and tester said output/circuts ok. also cleaned battery posts,terminals,and checked batterys with load test, everything checks ok. when the truck is running and the light is on the output of the alternater is from 13.5 to 13.8 volts. there is also a battery volt guage in the dash. when the light is on i watch it,it stays in the normal range.the connectors on the alternator are all tight. i am lost on what to check ,please help:help:

Check your alternator for corrosion and battery terminals. If I remember you have a 12 pin connector terminal on your alternator. Look for problems ( really look close ) for burnt terminals on this 12 pin connector.
