I have a Burban with 14 Bolt GM Semi Flaoting rear end and like to put in some Locker which one do you guy´s think are better choice Eaton G-80 or a Detroit Tru Track.

This Burb are on his way to get 38" Tires and a lower diffs and a LoLo gear like we say here in Iceland

Air suspension are on the list as well as Dana 60 front end :) with ARB Air locker

I have a full floating rear end as a second choice to put in the rear but it will be kept as a spear end :)

my friend has change his Burb to 6.6 Duramax and have also put under a 49" tires and a Atlas gear and lot of other goodies :)

His burb is unstoppable in the snow and glacierdriving

Best Regards

Detroit would be a better choice due to the amount of wheel spin you are likely to see on snow and ice. G80's are good at slower speeds. Lots of wheel spin is what will kill a G80 because of the centrifugal design of the lock up.

Keep in mind the True Trac is not a "locker" it's a limited slip. if you have one tire up in the air and/or no resistence, it will sometimes not function. you will sometimes have to feather the brakes a bit to get it to transfer down the power. The tt is 914a538. for a true locker, the detroit actuall locker is 225c-135a. happy hunting.
