Ok guys here is my problem i just bought a 95 k2500 turbo diesel and it starts real hard ever morning but i can let it sit 10hours when im working and it starts right up. I dont know what it could be. Also it smokes when i start it in the morning for about 10-20 seconds. Can somebody please help me with this.

Do you mean it is hard to start/crank or it cranks but runs rough?

How cold is the temp?

Do you know what kind of GP the previous owner put in?

May be the GP controller is bad. Start checking all the electrical connectors, cables and battery. Make sure nothing is loose and they are clean.

So you think he lyed about changing the glows and also how hard are they to change. tis is my first diesel so i have no idea. Also where is the air located?

He may change the glow? did he change the GP controller? GP and GP controller are 2 different things. There is only 1 GP controller that controls 8 GP.

Also, may want to take out one of the GP to see the quality. Another way is to measure the resistance of the glow plug but it is not as definitive as taking them out and looking at them. The driver side GP is easy to take out and change. Take one from that side. The passenger side is a different story, not impossible though.

I am experiencing the same problem on my 95 dually but it was actually hard to start so i suspected bad glows i changed them and now it starts right up but idles rough and smokes for 10-20 even 30 seconds after that it runs perfect. I'm curious if the lift pump could be weak or if i have a few bad injectors.

air would be air in the fuel lines. If not leaking externally than it would most likely be pre lift pump possibly even the fsu
