Has anyone put any type of rear mud-flaps on their truck. Do they make any kind that are a direct bolt in. I just purchased the ones from GO Industries and do not really like the way they mount. Are there any other good brands - do not want ones that are 20 bucks - looking for other quality pieces. Anyone with any advice would be appreciated.

Putco makes a nice set of stainless ones. There's a picture of them on my truck in my link in my sig look under "Big Dually". I didn't drill the truck but I did drill a hole or 2 on the mud flap to match up with factory bolts

I have switched to OEM black molded rear flaps which fit in better and higher in the wheel well, also a picture in my sig under "Smokin". They both look good.
Just don't back into a curb or any deep mud cuz if you pinch the mud flap against the wheel and a hard object it could crack your fender.

"Just don't back into a curb or any deep mud cuz if you pinch the mud flap against the wheel and a hard object it could crack your fender." :o:

Exactly why I went with the rubber flaps with stainless steel weights. Several times I have backed into parking spaces and had the flaps drag. I had them installed by an aftermarket shop, sorry I'm not certain which brand they ordered.

I do like the look of the molded OEM flaps with the Chevy logo. Maybe I'll get me a couple of those stainless "Big T'd Babes" for my flaps. :D JJ :)

Mud -:t are you crazy! Me back into deep mud,Pfffff :D

The flaps on my truck with the 235's sit up high enough to miss all of the curbs it's seen.I'm pretty cautious nonetheless

Uh-oh, the dreaded curse Mackin! Best to knock on wood 3 times, stand on one foot, and say "I love my mud flaps" 3 times as fast as you can! ;) Just hope we're not too late to save them flaps! ):h JJ :)

Ya mine are up high enuf for curbs too.

But sometimes plowing in the winter I get a little nervous :( about backing into a small snow bank to turn around.

And if all else fails you could always trim the bottom an inch or three to get a little more ground clearance.

On my 93 Dually I had a diffrent style flap the was attatched to a piece of angle iron, that then bolted to the frame. So when I backed up in some mud -:t I pinched the flap against the wheel and luckilly only bent the angle iron and didn't cause any damage to the fender since it wasn't directlly attatched. ;)
BUT if the same thing happened now, the fender would be history.

So I'm with Mack "No Mud for you" :D

Black05DMax,

Nice truck, looks even nicer riding atop that Kentucky bluegrass! :ro) My flaps look a lot like yours, I don't have the SS tops though just the bottom weights. I back into a lot of parking spaces and often the flaps will ride up over the concrete parking stops. I would have crunched the OEM's long ago. :o: Later. JJ :)

The only thing I have ever hit a flap on is a tree stump in my yard. My wife says it's a curse because she didn't want me to cut the tree down but I did anyways and she said untill I plant her another tree I will forever have mudflap problems. :D

To anyone who would like to see, I have added pictures to my signature link of what I am calling "temporary" mudflaps from Enkay. Very nice heavy duty units. I like they they are set back further to eliminate any rocks from hitting the trailer in tow(Primarily my boat as I do not want to chip my gel coat). The only thing I will change is the flaps bolt into the holder at the hitch, I am going to stud the holder so I add a nut rather than try and screw in a big bolt.

Other than that no chance of backing up and hitting something that could crack the fender.

Nice set up
