Hello all. I am in the market for an 06 2500hd. Wont know if its a LBZ or LLY until I actualy find the truck. Not in a big hurry, looking for the right truck for the right price. And in the meantime im making a list of extras I will be adding. My question is for all who have experience. What Mods would you recomend for this truck. Programmers, Intake, Exhaust, Etc. I dont have a money tree so am interested finding out what really works and what isnt worth the time and money. THANKS!

I would suggest 4 things to start. Exhaust, gauges, tuner, transgo jr.

For the exhaust, I suggest MBRP or Magnaflow. For the tuner I suggest a Edge Race unit. They have the tuning and gauges built into 1 unit. The transgo jr is just a shift kit that gives the transmission extra holding capacity.

OK good info. I will be using my truck as a daily driver, so I would like to daily drive and smoke most cars on the street but also have a MPG advantage. I will also be towing a couple times a year.

straight pipe it, easy and cheap. also block the egr. add the tuner/gauge setup of your choice...

that can be done. now the question is how deep are your pockets.

MBRP's are cheaper, dont fit as well as a Magnaflow imo but its all in what you wanna spend. Edge Juice w/ Attitude is a great chip for these trucks, adds good power but not too much to really hurt anything, and they arent that that pricey

exhaust: (4 or 5'' turbo back) take your pick. i have run both mbrp and magnaflow both straight piped and not and both treated me well. tuner: efi is the best, ppe is the second best, i have also had good luck with the ats e power and the predator. gauges. intake (love my volant, lots of turbo whistle). trans go is a good addition but is kinda like a bandaid. if your pushing serious power a full trans upgrade is necessary.

after that your getting into lift pumps, turbos, cp3s etc.

then a built motor and go from there. really depends on where you want to be and how much money you want to throw at the truck. a tune and exhaust will really wake it up and will put a smile on your face but it wont take long and you will want more.
