if you have a lb7, are you able to put an egr plate in?
Do these motors even have a recycle system?

If you have the EGR system, you can just cut a block off plate out of some 26 ga. galvalume and install it between the EGR Valve and the cooler.

So yes, you can put a plate in the system to block it off.

Will blocking it off throw any codes or anything? I've got an 03 California EGR LB7, looking for ways to get a little more zoom, cheaply ;)

If you have a CA emissions LB7 then it will probably throw codes, and until you get more boost than stock, it won't help you go any faster. It will keep your intake cleaner though.

I don't know if the finger stick works on LB7s. Other than that, EFILive (and maybe some other programmers) can turn off the codes.

No finger sticks for the LB7, and EFI Live is the only way to turn the system off to keep the codes away....

John is absolutely right. Been there, done that.

If you have an LB7 with EGR you can use the LLY block plate to block it.

EFI, PPE Xcelerator and a couple others will block the codes for an EGR plate.

I generally just disable the EGR in the ECM programming. Simpler to do and help with other emissions issues.

NKDMAX,

Simplest is if there is a cat there is EGR, biut Midwest did not have EGR. CA and NE emissions had EGR and cats. Some of these trucks did get mixed into circulation outside their intended markets.
