: Quad power new 215
C.A.P 06-05-2005, 09:15 PM I just put a Quad 215 on , it runs quick and pulls hard Im looking for some feedback on other Quad owners. Any quirks or nags about it ,it runs stock quiet with no timing rattle , and drives like stock untill you get on it, then it hits hard.
GMC-2002-Dmax 06-05-2005, 09:20 PM OH NO..............Not again.............

duramaxdiesel 06-05-2005, 11:08 PM This is just MY experience. It pulls very hard and has a little rattle in the morning on start up. I can't compare it to the TTS Extreme since I've never tried it.
Do a little search on the forums and I'm sure you'll find a lot of the info you're looking for.
Oh yeah put the pot of coffee on now. You'll be reading for a while.):h

I don't see any transmission modes
I'm no psychic but I can already see your next post topic."I limped it"
Is it one of the 10 tune, tuners? Do your transmission and stack it with the Edge ,then report back
C.A.P 06-06-2005, 07:25 AM that is going to be done very soon, the trans first, then the edge, either suncoast, or Ats , I did just get some good feedback on the new dtt trans. I let it rip 1through 4th and usually dont up or down shift on acceleration, but I know it's only a matter of time, plus I 'm not getting full potential from my tuner without the upgrade. How is the tts any nags to it? It is the 10 tune brand new version

Modes, or mods? ;) The quad doesn't have any transmission modes, and yes you need tranny mods ;)
I have the newest 10 setting Quad without tranny mods, so I have not tried the real levels. But do run around on 165 all the time. Learn to drive, and it won't limp. I am sure it is killing the tranny faster then I can afford, but I'm having fun. :ro)
By the way; The new Quad is great!
Mackin 06-06-2005, 11:15 AM No nags about the TTS.Sorry bout the miss-spell was early :o:
the new Quad has an Allison transmision fast mode in it

i have the bully with 130 setting, are you limping the tranny at all on the 165 setting? if not, im gonna get the quad 165
ratlover 08-18-2005, 03:17 PM LLY dosnt have the 215 program ECT. 165 and even 135 are too much for the stock allison to live a long and happy life.

my tranny hasnt shown any issues with the 135 setting, and ive had it on there for over 4 months now........
ratlover 08-18-2005, 03:20 PM That is better than most have done. All allisons wernt built the same I suppose. I could slipp my converter at will with a 125 juice in 5th gear
Slick 08-18-2005, 03:22 PM Quad or Bullydog doesn't matter. Its all in how you drive it. Basically it boils down to getting your foot out of it in 5th to keep it from limping everytime. Instead of paying 699 for a new tuner that your not going to get full use of, why don't you tack on 1500-2000 more dollars and do a converter and transgo? Then you can let the fun begin. Doesn't make much sense to me to buy another tuner when the one you have is enough to limp a trans. JMO.
On edit: Phil beat me to it. Need to stop taking bathroom breaks in the middle of a reply.
bigbird 08-18-2005, 03:24 PM quad 215 works well for me no issues at all. i run the 215 stacked with the juice daily.
brett6.6 08-18-2005, 04:42 PM mine works great, FINALLY, recently put a post about the quad not working on my truck quadzilla was very helpful, but on the down side it took 4 different programmers from quad to finally get 1 to work but overall great performance w/ a good price. will have some track times in a week or so w/ the juice quad stack

Meeeeeetoooo
215 and 5/5 all day
215 and 3/5 at the track (no bursting)

why spend $2k on those upgrades when I could get a DTT or Stage 3 tranny for $3400?
Slick 08-19-2005, 08:00 AM I don't think your gonna have the case machined and trans. installed for 3400. I believe I heard that depending on the clutches you choose you'll be around 5-6G's when its all said and done.
If you don't mind spending 3500, I would go with a SC IV instead. That's what I paid for mine out the door. Its also a proven product, DTT, well not so much. For a little more green you could have an ATS III w/copliot as well.

I can limp the tranny anytime I want on the 135 hp setting, and the 165 will limp it at any speed, in any gear. But you can learn how too use the go peddle to keep everything in check.

no, not installed, but after you get the rebate for the core you send in, it comes in around $3400, excluding R and R
Slick 08-19-2005, 02:43 PM From what I understand the DTT requires "custom" machine work to the case, to make the larger apply pistons fit. This is something that would jack the install costs way up there. Does their kit come with a converter now?
