Depends on what you want to do.

PPE = Best race tuner as well as good street tuner

Best value in a race/street tuner = Predator

Easy smooth power = Edge EZ

Best drivability = TTS Tow.

etc, etc, etc.

What about Banks 6 Pack? How does it rank

I tested it for a short while. Ran 14.2 on Big Blue, and 13.9 stacked. Not excessively smokey, very good power delivery and very streetable.

The PPE will kick it's ass as far as HP goes, and it does not remove the speed limiter.

You will be happy with it most likely.

Mcrat explained it well. If you want an all around tuner that performs well and is cheap...ie...best bang for the buck I would try a predator.

Overall HP for the LLY goes to the PPE Hot Xcelerator. The best part about it is, its still streetable in the highest setting. The Predator will put down some power and at about half the price of the PPE it is a very good option.

For the safest/most power combination, I would recommend the 6-Gun if you have a stock transmission.

McRat, By PPE LLY Extreme tune that is in your sig do you mean the PPE Hot Xcelerator or the PPE Xcelerator? How does the PPE compare with the VA/Predator stack?

McRat

It's the LLY "Hot" Xcelerator I guess. When you pick it on the menu it says Extreme.

The Predator/VA stack is about 10rwhp HP more than the PPE alone, but the PPE/VA stack is up about 25HP over the Predator/VA stack.

Now when u all say "stacked" that means running a programmer and a "Chip". What is the best for a stock tranny. What would be the price to get the best "stacked" combo and what does that combo consist of? Sry im a newbie

Do not stack if you are running a stock tranny unless you are ready to upgrade it. Yes stacked means running an inline power adder with a ECM reprogrammer. For a stock tranny you should keep the additional hp below 90.

I use my truck to make my living. It always weighs 8000# including my tools and supplies. I also make frequent weekend trips to God's country and will pull a 5000# boat. If I use a Predator at 85HP for daily driving and 40HP towing will I have anything to worry about? I like the safety features of the J/A but the Predator is a great value considering its features. I am worried about the egt issues and tranny wear and tear. Should I be if I stick to those HP gains? The only other near future mod would be an exhaust.

That is one of the advantages of the 6-Gun over a programmer. If you have it on a higher level and decide to hook up to a trailer, all you have to do is turn the knob down a level or two. But, to answer your question, that's what most users of the Predator do - 40hp for towing and 85hp for daily driving. You shouldn't have to worry about tranny issues or egt temps on these settings. It's just that you have to stop and reprogram it every time you're going to hook up to your boat.

I also have a stock truck and don't want to run anything extreme. If I was to only run the Predator in the first two settings, wouldn't the Edge EZ be a better bet since you can adjust on the fly. I know that the 3rd setting is only 65hp vs 85hp on the Pred. so not too much difference.

Any opinions appreciated, Thanks..

I have a stock Transmission also, the Juice will be here today. Does anyone else agree with the 90HP limit? What else am I going to break?

You're not going to break anything, but everytime you slip the clutches, it will get easier and easier to slip. I ran a 14.7 w/predator on 65hp setting, which is a huge jump from stock. If you don't have plans on ever upgrading the trans, I'd stay around 65hp. My experience is limited to only my trans though.

Good luck,
Rob
