Anybody running the Magnaflow XL Performance kit on their DMAX? There is a guy selling flange back kits on eBay. They are 409 Stainless, come with a 5" tip and free shipping for $440.00. Sounds like a good deal, but I have never heard them on the diesels, and I don't know if they fit well? I know Magnaflow has been around a while, and they are good with gassers, but thought I would check with you guys first!

I have it on my truck and know of several others and we all love them!!! Fit is very very good. I can pull stock exhaust and have the magnaflow installed in 1 hour.(done a few now) They sound AWESOME! If you get it then let me know if you like it.

How quiet is your exhaust compared to stock? Is there any drone at any rpm like the stock (1600...1900 rpm)? Thanks

Just installed the Magnaflow system on mine this past Friday. No drone. Some folks who have installed the Banks system have experienced the droning sound you describe.
The Magnaflow system sounds very nice, gives the exhaust note a nice 'beefy' sound that isn't to loud.
Mahalkita, your LLY may require Fingers 'Stick' to prevent codes. Worked like a charm on mine. Have already noticed approx. 3 mpg improvement on highway driving.

BTW, the Magnaflow system for 2001 - 2004 will fit the '05 beautifully. Magnaflow is currently working on a system for the LLY's - looks like it will cost quite a bit more though.

Just put the Magnaflow on my truck, took about 2 weeks for it to open up a bit but has a great sound to it, not too loud and not too quiet.
I do have one concern though? The XL system does not have a tip on it, so I am curious about what he is selling?

I think he is adding the tip on after the fact. I'll let you all know when I get it!

I bought the turbo (downpipe) back kit for mine, $450 with stainless tip and free shipping. I love it!!! Not too much louder when just driving normal, stand on it and it's a whole different story. It did make my turbo whistle louder, but no drone at all.

I just ordered the turbo (downpipe) back kit today, hoping it will be here by Friday, but most likely next week.

i have a magnaflow 4 in stainless cat back , i noticed a big difference when i got the honey comb chisled out of the cat it has a healthy rumble to it now , they only charged me 50 for cutting a square in the cat and chisled it out 325 for the exhaust kit and 60 to install it , big difference with restriction out of cat .
