Looks like it's my time to change the W/P. Anyone advice on what to get or whos pump to stay away from?

I went to the dealer to buy my water pump. They are more difficult to change than a gasser & I figured mine went 130K miles so I will buy another one like it. The Stealership's are a little more pricey though.

I changed mine and bought the aftermarket one. Took me 4hrs, from start to finish, including the test drive to make sure it didn't leak.

I just bought a rebuild one at a local shop. Anyone know if i can run the older green type antifreeze, or will it just eat the gaskets??? Im pretty sure the manual says DEXCOOL only, but will the green stuff hurt anything???

I always switch from Dexcool to extended-life green Prestone. Switched over when I did my water pump. I've heard horror stories from running Dexcool, but I've also heard good. If you run Dexcool, make sure your level is never low and if you ever overheat, change it as soon as possible.
