I have a 2009 LMM, when it's in 4 low: I run it in "D" drive then I need to stop and put it in reverse, the dam thing jumps and it feels like the transmission is going to rip off the frame.

It's worse when I go in reverse, stop, then throw it into drive. The truck jumps and the trany rocks around under the frame. (Terrible feeling). It has always done this, it seems like there is too much torque or something in low range. It's like the touque converter is already engaging while it's being changed gears.....

My 2007 Vortec 5.3 did the same thing! Only in low range. I know nothing is broken but everyone else's trucks must be doing the same thing?

I have no engine mods........

Someone try doing it: Low range; reverse, then stop, switch to drive.....see what happens.....

Am I the only one here???????:help:

I have only been in four low a few times. I haven't even really needed it but wanted to see what the power was like. I know it did shift hard but not slamming while in "d". I could barely keep the truck stopped with the brakes its just wants to crawl with all the torque...

I've noticed it but not that bad

It's hard to quantify an amount of 'roughness' in words but I've had a similar experience with my truck. It's anything but smooth in low range. Particularly when shifting into and out of drive is really harsh. Also, I agree with the poster about hardly being able to keep the truck stopped. All that torque just makes the truck want to go.

There is a lot of driveline slop and feeling a clunk into drive is not uncommon. This is grossly exaggerated in 4-low.

Yes, you guys are all right. I think what I am seeing is what everyone sees. It feels like I cant push the brake hard enough to make it stop in low range. It does just want to crawl!

Seems very harsh when shifting in and out of D low and same thing for R low. Way too harsh. It feels like the transmission is rocking back and fourth under the truck stressing on the mounts that mount to the frame.

One thing I also noticed was that it does it a bit (harsher than normal) in D two wheel drive; When it's in REGEN mode. I think because regen makes the RPM a bit higher.

I really hate this harsh shifting while in 4 low and regen, there is stress there 100%!
