I think there is something wrong with that.:exactly:

According to the Service manual the gear ratios are the same for 1st thru 5th and reverse, the MAX GVW is unchanged also. The Max TQ seems fishy. Probably looking for another reason to blame performance enhancers on tranny problems):h

is there any word when the 6speed will actually be put into production vehicles? I have seen here that it might be a 2006.5 upgrade. I have a 2006 GMC on order and kinda dont want to get stuck with a remaining 5speed, thanks second day here, GREAT site lots of info

It's interesting that the RPO for a 6 speed Allison is in the 04 RPO codes in my service manual, even though I doubt it was ever available. M74 is listed as the RPO code for a 6 speed allison, MW7 is listed as the rpo code for a 6 speed allison. Page 0-15 of the 04 service manual set.

The 0.61 6th gear is exactly what I needed for the Autobahn !!! This will eliminate the need for 3:23 gears.
Will it be possible to run the 6 speed in 01-05 trucks? What about reworking the 5speed to a 6speed with a SC3,4 or 5 upgrade?
