Looking to upgrade from the Westin Bull bar to a full size brush guard. I'm looking for pics from anyone who has one installed on an 04 GMC 2500HD. Thanks in advance.

are you wanting just a brush guard or a front bumper replacement?

full brush guard. I have a westin bull bar on it now and the reason i didnt buy a brush guard when i bought it was because i didnt think they looked real good on the gmc's.

There are a bunch of different styles you can get. Do a search for ranchhand, buckstop, roadarmor, trailready, reunel, toughcountry, trex, ali arc, etc... you'll find all sorts of things.

I was wondering if anyone had pics of their truck with different styles of brush guards. I like westin as I always have. I'm just picky with how good looking the front ends on the GMC's are and I dont want to ruin it.

I have searched in the past with little luck. Finding decent pics of GMCs with bumpers just isnt easy. Spent some more time and found these:

http://www.ranchhand.com/frontbumperbullnose.htm - not right pic

http://www.toughcountry.com/chevy/pages/18_chevy_jpg.htm - I like this one

http://www.ranchhand.com/frontbumperstandard.htm - bumper pic...no truck

http://www.ranchhand.com/frontbumpersummit.htm - bumper pic...no truck

http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6227&highlight=ranchhand+gmc - a few pics here

http://www.buckstop.biz/gmc99-04.html - I love the looks of this one, BUT the uprights should follow the grille. Overall one nice looking bumper.

http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2476&highlight=reunel+gmc - more pics here

http://www.trailready.com/truck_gallery.html - while the bumper follows the lines of the truck the brush guard does not

http://www.aliarc.com/pickupbars.html - a few pics of gmcs in there

http://www.reunel.com/ - terrible pic of a gmc bumper on there, but then again their site just plain sucks.

Finally found the one post I was looking for...check out the GMC bumper in this post:
http://dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23313&highlight=reunel - Granted the chrome is a bit overboard, but it looks like a nice bumper for out GMCs.

There's no chrome on Duramaxduallys reunel, in fact I think reunel will colormatch for free for you. Don't quote me on that but I'm almost certain I read that somewhere.

Oh I see what you're talking about, I didn't scroll down for enough :o: but like I said I think you can get those painted from the factory.

and expensive as hell

I have a Warn winch but most of ther stuff is overly expensive. I had one of there winch mounts for a stock bumper and it didn't work well so I returned it and replaced the bumper with Ranchand front and rear so I could move the 9.5ti front or rear depending on the need. Also, I don't have to carry it around all the time...the front of a duramax doesn't need to be carrin anymore weight all the time . . . . tires and shocks already get enough weight for wear.

Allright gents, I appreatiate the help. I would like to go with westin but I have never seen a Westin on a newer model GMC. I'm too afraid it would look like garbage and then I threw $500 down the drain. Oh well. If anyone has pics of their truck with a nice brush guard installed please show us. My wife gets impatient. I had to get a Magnaflow, high flow cat, and chrome tips for her ZR2 Blazer to keep her quiet. Everytime I want a new part, she needs a new part. I bought a hypertech for her and now she loves it. I put a tornado in her air intake tube, a 180 thermo and now she wants a blower or a turbo charger. What did I get myself into?I got this woman hooked on power, performance, K@N, tuners, all terrain grips, black rims, westin brush guard, with westin running boards.....Does it ever stop?

I guess I should feel lucky. She wants me to squeeze 500 h.p. out of that 4.3 she's got. Its a good motor that will last forever but she needs a police package the way she drives. I told her about GM crate motors and all that and she got excited. Not gonna happen though. She loves to drive and drive hard. She actually just bought me a set of guages for my a-pillar. I also recieved a DEE-ZEE black diamond tool box for my birthday, her idea....She does well. She likes to be able to pass someone with relative ease. She also likes to merge onto the highway safely if not a bit expeditiously. When I was building my caprice, she was always like why do you need to get this part or that part? Isnt it fast enough? My reply was why do you need 49 pairs of shoes and 37 sandles?

Why don't you send your beloved wife to work to earn money to pay for her stuff?

There is a picture with the Westin bumper bar on this forum (I assume thats not what you are looking for) it looks plain ugly to me.

On a HD truck only a real full replacement bumper looks good - sissy brush guards are for SUVs only - but thats just my own opinion....:exactly:
