: Diesel in the oil, again....

truck in my sig...has had two new sets of injectors in the past 6 months. First set all at once due to idle haze and bad return rates. Then got fuel in the oil, found right sides leaking, and changed them. More fuel in the oil a week later, found left sides leaking, and changed them.
Now, a week after the left side ones were done, my oil is overfull with diesel again.
Tech said he ran the truck trying to see if the pump was leaking, but couldn't get it to leak....
I'm at a loss, and open to ideas as to what else may be going on with this truck. Any ideas?

Is this work done at the dealer? Remans through GM? Sounds like the return lines might be leaking. When tech said he found right side leaking what did he mean? New injectors leaking or return line leaking?

yes, being done at the dealer, so remans from GM. They said the injectors themselves were leaking, and replaced them. First the right side, then the left.
He kept it extra time when they put in the left side injectors last week to make sure it wasn't leaking. So much for that idea......if the return lines were leaking, shouldn't he have been able to see it on the last test?

I have not had to do mine yet, but I believe their is a seat that the injectors set into. If the old ones are left they can cause problems. (may want to search or wait for another reply to support that, but it's a thought)

2003 gmc 2500hd duramax,at 72,000 had it in to the dealer& they replaced two injectors & cleaned the remaining ones. I have about 80,000 now & haven't had any more trouble.

Sounds fishy....new injectors leaking?? first one side and then the other??? Sorry I do not believe that. Sounds like the tech put it back together and discovered it leaked and could not find it and just blamed the injectors.

I guess You could have that happen but not on both sides with new ones at the same time.

Solution was to run with the valve covers off to see where the leak is.

I thought it sounded funny, but I don't know enough about diesels to be sure. They SAID they ran it with the covers off last week to make sure nothing was leaking.....it's going back to them on Monday, so we will see what they say this time....I have a feeling they are going to try to blame it on a leaking pump and try to charge me for it

could be they reused the injector seals or the return line seals. Youre not supposed to for this very reason.

So you did the injectors and then took it to the stealership because it filled the oil pan up? They did what?
