My mom works for Champion Spark Plug and gets the supplier discount. If I were to get a new truck, would I get her discount plus the GMS discount and other rebates/trade on top of that or is it one or the other? Also how much is the supplier discount vs the Employee discount?

I was informed you are only allowed one of the discounts. All the other offers like cash back are something you can also take of the price. But GMS discount is the one you would want if you had a chance to choice from one or the other.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

In 2004, my truck:
mrm (window) $42,668
supplr 37,765
gms 36,138
less holdback 35,558

I would assume that you would want the gms discount. The "less holdback" is what the dealer pays GM for the vehicle. You can also get $3,000 cash allowance and up to $2,000 GM card earnings if you routinely use a GM card. For financing, check out your local lending institution with the $3,000 cash allowance vs the GMAC financing. My son saved some with the cash allowance and financed at his credit union.

GMS is a fixed price and the Supplier discount is a fixed price, so you can only use one or the other. GMS is always less than supplier discount. The problem with both of these programs is it puts in place a large number of restrictions on the use of other discounts. You can typically get cash back / or low finance deal that is available at the time you take delivery, but you may not be able to use GM card earnings from the "original" GM card.

Well I don't have a GM card. I have applied and got turned down because I'm only 20 and have very little credit(Only 1 credit card ever pain on time every time) Me and my mom were trying to figure out how it would work. Guess I'll just keep dreamin.

So with the GMS deal, can you get the $3000 cash back on top of it?

When you click on the "get employee price now" button you get the GMS discount AND the rebate added together. My new truck (just got it Friday night) listed at 50K, and with the GMS discount was 41K, and then the 3K rebate made it 38K. I thought it was 38K for the GMS +3K rebate for 35K. 3 calls to GM, and 3 different dealers confirmed this. Still got a good deal in my mind. I love this thing!!!!

Makes me  when looking at used truck prices where a 2003 with 40k miles lists at $23k to $24k. I guess that those LB7 have a great resale value.

The GMS price of $27,462.58 includes all incentives including rebates at the time of purchase. You can get the 500 military discount if it you qualify and of course GM card earnings as well.:)
