I got my p/u reflashed friday. Told them poor gas mileage and white smoke. When I got the truck back the new sticker read 18-033-04 I wanted 18-037-04. Are these the same or did they give me the wrong reflash? The only info. I can find about the 18-033-04 is it's used for new ECMs from dodge that aren't programed from the factory. Did I wast my time?

my reflash for poor mileage was 18-034-04. My reflash did improve fuel mileage immediately (hand calculated and computer calculated). Unsure about the numbers.

Mine was done a month ago as 18-037-04 (that's what I asked for and on the underhood sticker). Mileage a little better. I didn't have a white smoke problem so don't know about that one. Did a tow of my camper (estimated 7k lbs) this weekend and mileage was 12.7 at a 63-65 mph cruise on interstate. Not really broke in yet with only 9,000 miles.

I looked up the TSB and all 18-033-04 does is to tell the technician how to program (or re-program) the ECM. My thinking is replacement parts no longer come programmed to the dealer. The dealer would have to update the ECM before installation. The 18-033-04 is not even a code level of re-flash so it's hard to say what you have installed, SWKTK1.

Thanks for your help. I'll give it a couple of weeks and if my over head computer is still off, i'll take it back. No big deal, still love this truck.:)

I printed a copy of the TSB I wanted (18-037-04), handed it to the Service Manager, waited while he stapled it to the repair order, and had him write it down on the repair order as well. No confusion, no misunderstanding, no nothing. When they brought the truck back onto the Service drive after the work was completed, I popped the hood and read the sticker on the radiator support. Sure enough, it read 18-037-04. There's and old saying in my business, "inspect what you expect". If you don't, shame on you! BTW, my mpg, both hand calculated and on the overhead, went up about 1.5 mpg as a result of the reflash.
