Tried to get a small local muffler shop to install a 3.5" cutout before my Flowmaster muffler and add to my existing exhaust, another pipe from the cutout (with no muffler) to the rear for duel exhausts.
( was that clear ? )

:badidea:
Anyway, the shop said they could not bend 3.5" pipe, so we thought about a 3" pipe, but the shop did not think they could make the bends over the axle on the passenger side. I looked and on my short bed, between the fuel tank, shock and other "clutter" I can hardly blame them. ( The Cutout is still sitting in a box ) The shop suggested that maybe a very experienced "muffler man" might tackle the job.
I am thinking of my EGTs and this idea would have been much cheaper than the large exhaust systems. Even another 3" pipe would give me more flow than a 4" exhaust system and less than half the cost. (The shop quoted me $65 before they saw the problem)

Oh well, back to the drawing board

I've also been thinking of using a cut-out before muffler. I'm thinking just have it exit down right at the cut-out for drag strip use. I have been unbolting the four bolt flange and running it like that, but you wouldn't like to see the bottom of the truck. Maybe having a down pipe would help keep soot away from body of the truck. Where did you find the cut-out?

Rob,
I bought the cutout from Jegs.
I want to run the system if I can get someone to run me a pipe out the back. You could also add a cap at the end of the pipe, if noise was a factor.
The thought here though, is that this system was for EGTs when I pull. I don't believe this system will improve much, if any, on my ETs.

Added the new exhaust side with a cutout for a splice as planned.
Muffler Shop did a very nice job though the charge was $200. Cost more than I planned on, but it is done.
I am happy with the system now and would recommend it for the budget minded.
