: Fuel Pressure Gauge
Mackin 06-03-2005, 09:45 PM Finally I can move on to other things.Looks Like Guy's cyclops should be moving into my truck this weekend! :)
Took a ride to Jannetty Racing in Waterbury a Diesel Place Vendor and picked up my fuel gauge.Always a pleasure talking to Ted and he always takes time out to BS,cool dude.
Ahem, he's waiting for our date with the Superflow ;)
Any way where are you guys mounting the Autometer sender?

Mackin,
Where did you get your mount from? It looks like it fits the overhead console.

Mackin 06-04-2005, 08:52 AM Yes it does!
http://www.socaldiesel.com/ Some guy who goes by Trippen round here makes them :)
Diesel Dragon 06-04-2005, 08:49 PM Look's like that adapter was made for the fuel filter vent hole.
I think Nick has his mounted there and has a picture of it somewhere, I think it's a M10 X 1.0mm
Trippin 06-04-2005, 09:50 PM Mac,
I removed the factory pressure test port. It is below and next to the alternator. Two studs hold it onto the bracket and a spring style hose clamp holds the fuel line onto the test port. I used an "Adel" style clamp to wrap around the sensor for my SPA gauge and then attached it to one of the open stud holes. This type of mounting allows me to monitor fuel pressure "after" the factory fuel filter has done it's damage to fuel flow. :D
Hope this helps.
Carey,
I made 4 prototypes and have one left to sell. I will be making more in the future and will list them on the web site at that time. PM me if your interested in the last prototype.
GMC-2002-Dmax 06-04-2005, 09:59 PM We got it and it looks.............:cool2:
Also spliced the SD manifold in................NOS goes in this week or next...........
Here are some pics..........
BTW...........the Xtreme sucks the Holley RED to zero at 1/2 throttle........... , guess we need some more fuel pressure.........:exactly:

Mackin 06-04-2005, 11:06 PM Tony did a awesome job today,he deserves ALL the credit! The SD manifold install alone on a 01 was top notch, don't even kid yourself! :thumb:
Thanks man,you know I appreciate it! :)
Diesel Dragon 06-04-2005, 11:50 PM If you only have 4 psi at idle then you need to turn it up, no wonder your going down to zero at part throttle
you need more like 10 psi
And the install looks good
And where did you end up tapping into for the fuel pressure sending unit?
Any pictures of that?
GMC-2002-Dmax 06-04-2005, 11:59 PM Nothing to turn up...........and we used an adpter for the fuel bleeder port , same as Nick is running....
If Mackin's truck pulls the fuel pressure to ZERO that easily with the Xtreme and a single Holly RED then I suspect mine is doing the same thing as well...........:exactly:
I am sure that the fuel pressure dropping that quickly is not good.............and maintaining it will be a benefit.......:)
I am adding my Fuel pressure gauge soon enough..........twin Holley REDS may be enough for now as I have a spare hanging around........and will plumb them in series........;)
I may throw a dual Holley RED on Mac's truck in the next day just to see if it makes a difference............ ...........as they are cheap........
I suspect twins might be enough..........just need to fab up a new bracket.

Mackin 06-05-2005, 07:06 AM Ah I see you put the sender further up stream. Gotta move mine it's not liking where it is.
Nick clean that engine compartment already -:t

fredw 06-30-2005, 07:00 AM any idea what you seen for pressure with the two red holleys at wot, i am like you and have seen it drop off to sub zero right after wot, and am wondering if two will take care of the problem
fredw 06-30-2005, 05:24 PM ttt
Mackin 06-30-2005, 10:46 PM IMO your wasting your time with Holley pumps as their not diesel rated and cannot be pulled thru. There are better alternatives.I have kicked mine to the curb as of late
ZR1160 09-16-2005, 08:44 AM I like the way Diesel Power installed his pressure sensor, but is the bleed hole before or after the filter media? does it really make a diff? Thanks
Max Power 09-16-2005, 09:57 AM It is after. Shouldn't make any difference.
86underboost 09-16-2005, 07:04 PM could also put a T in on the bleed port there with a plug or valve or something so you can still prime her easily......just a thought

ZR1160 09-20-2005, 01:43 PM If any one wants the fitting to use the bleeder in the filter Here is the outfit that has the fitting look at Meteric to English Appapters 10mmx1.5 to 1/8 NPT Their Part # is
