Looking good. Do you run weight in the bed? I'm heading to the snow this Christmas and I'm loading up with 500lbs of sand to be on the safe side as I don;t have chains.

Looks good. You'll like the Poly V......Snow doesnt stick much at all. I've got a steel and Wax the crap outta it so the snow wont stick, works pretty well for a while then gotta re-wax. I would highly recommend getting or making a deflector for the top of the blade. I fought/dealt with not having one my first winter with my blade and I couldnt stand it.

What LED mini-bar you running? Is that one or two. That the low profile idea Im leaning towards.

A Whelen Responder Amber lamps with clear lens is what I'm currently looking to scrape up the loose change for.

And yes, I see a deflector in the near future as well. Seen the one Boss offers for $400 (WTF?) Can make one the same quite simple, just need to grab some thin belting.

I used a rubber bed liner from local farm store. Cut it just like the Boss one. Looks just like it other than the Boss logo not being there. Cost me about 40 50 bucks for the liner and parts. And used the almost 6'x4' to put in my bed to hold stuff in place. Its really nice, has strands within the rubber to help reinforce and it is super sturdy stuff. Saved me a ton of money to just make one vs getting bent over for the Name Brand one.

I just got in (midnight-ish) and there wasnt a snow flake to be seen falling yet. Plow is still sitting in the driveway...if I need it I'll take the 4 minutes to install it.

Backup? Hey... I wont turn any work down unless there is a really good reason.

what's up guys? just bought my first plow truck 2 months ago. 09 2500 sc/lb 6.0 with an 8ft Boss straight blade . I have the torsions turned up 4 turns and 600lbs of tube sand in the back. I still don't like how the front squats. do I need more ballast or would timbrens be better? also how are these stock tires for plowing? I really like the bfg at's on my duramax, but thats the only aftermarket at I have run.

I put Timbrens on the front of mine and did a 3 turn crank on the Tbars.

That 9'2 PolyV I have is 860 lbs. It still squats 2" or so when I pick er up so the Timbrens were a good way to go.

BTW both 06Bowtie_Guy and I have BFG's AT KO's on our rigs. I need to put some weight in my truck bed, but still deciding on what. Sandbags or scrap steel plate(s) - still leaves the truck bed usable.

Here's mine (older picture though). And just incase some guys are interested in the Firestone Air Shocks you can look here http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=338068 That’s what I did to get them to work with the lift. I think they are great, It rides a lot smoother in the front with the plow up.
