I have had a 5" turbo back system in my truck for a little over 2 years now, and have had the EGR blocked with a blocker plate. I was kinda leaning toward putting the cat back on, thinking of queiting things down again. My question is, should I pull the blocker plate out when I put the cat back on? Is the EGR gonna be messed up now or not work properly? what kind problems am I looking at? the check engine like has been on for about a year since I took my PPE programer out. What kind of $ am I looking to spend if I have EGR problems?
Thanks
I have wondered about the possibility of soot build up on the exhaust side of the blocker plate and being scraped off upon removal which could get sucked into the turbo all at once. I don't have an answer, but it's a very good question.
If it was me, I'd wire in a fingerstick and leave the plate in.

I figured there would be some soot build up, I wonder how i can get in there and clean it out? I've been down the figerstick road, had 2 different ones, light always came on. I always found the figerstick thing a gimmick and waste of money. I know 2 or 3 guys who never put one in and light never has come on. I was one of those exceptions where it never worked for me. My main concern is will the egr still function properly or am i in for a nice suprise?

I have a Magnaflow 5" Turboback w/ a 6" tip. Love it , like he said quite until almost 3000rpm (maybe a little less) then that deep throaty magnaflow sound. I wanted something quite yet well that magnaflow sound. Had a dual setup on my 04' 1/2 ton crew and am brand loyal from then on.

A fingerstick is a device that is soldered into the wiring harness on the passenger side of the engine. It prevents the computer from "seeing" a lack of or reduced EGR flow and throwing a code/CEL. I got both my blocker and fingerstick from www.kennedydiesel.com .
