Howdy, I'm totally new to diesel's. I just bought a '03 3500 duramax . Totally impressed with the power of the beast. It has a K&N intake and a 4" SS exhaust, that's about all I know about it as far as I know the rest is stock. I just made a bid on a Hypertech programer on ebay. Before I go any further I'd like to get some of your opinions whether or not this is a decent unit for a mild upgrade for towing.

Go for it. I had one and didn't have any problems. I went from a 16.3 to a 15.4 1/4 mile on level 3. It's one of the easiest to use.

I love mine, good power. didnot change my mileage. don't pay more than $225. they come up for sale here in the classifieds for 175-250

Got one too off ebay. Love it! No problems with stock tranny.
