my dad has had his j/a kit for a couple weeks now and on his way back from vermont, his truck went into limp mode. he was not beating on it. he thinks he had the cruise on. at the time he was in 0 but was playing with it a little to find the best mileage. could it just be because he was changing settings or what? any idea. interstate drving by the way

Was he towing? Did he check the tranny fluid level? It shouldn't limp, so he needs to find out what happend. What version edge does he have? Did he call edge? They are great with cust. service. He can send it in for an update to v1.2 and see how the truck acts while the edge is off. This could kill two birds with one stone. Updates are free.

someone on CTS suggested a fuel problem due to staying at a constant speed and then mashing the throttle. i guess he punched it coming out of a toll booth and shortly after it threw a ses code and went in to limp mode. he suggested it was engine limp and not tranny limp. it sounds like this is the problem to me. anyone agree?

Not to hijack your thread lukeh182, but why would the edge not back down when it sees over 10% tranny slip? 5th gear tc locked, 0% back down and no limp?

Do you mean the tranny went into limp mode or he just couldn't go above 2000 rpm? Could be the dreaded P1093. :D

My 05 goes into limp after about 2 miles, every time. Had it at two different dealers for 3 weeks now and they think its a bad pump, waiting on parts.

Are you referring to me? It didn't limp, no codes. 5th gear t/c locked above 80mph tranny started to slip upto 13%, edge didn't backdown or limp or throw codes. I'm wondering why.

opps, reread the whole thread. Gunbunny - I think you may be right about luke's problem. It kinda sounds like the 1093.

you say he was in level 0 ?? then the edge has nothing to do with it, at that point you are using the stock tune. something else must be wrong.

Getting the ECM codes scanned would be the thing to do. If it's a 1093 then the engine went into limp mode. If there is a P0700 then the tranny set the code and the TCM needs to be scanned.

I was on level 3 Edge and I got a P1093. Pretty sure that it was from not changing my fuel filter until 14,000 miles. Runs great level 3 wide open!:grd:
