After watching a small damp area on the aluminum bell housing for over 40,000 it became apparent that it was transmission fluid. There was a red drop forming but no drips on the driveway yet. I made the mistake of mentioning it to to the dealer when I took the truck in because I ran out of fuel with the guage reading just under 1/4 tank and no low fuel warning lamp.

In case you havent experienced it yet let me tell you that I had all I could do to stand on the brake petal and wressle the steering wheel to safely stop the vehicle whthout power steering or brakes. Glad I wasn't towing my trailer on some mountain road.

Anyway, aftering showing the dealer the transmission leak they told me they had no choice but to pull the transmission and replace some seal. They said the seal is likely to have an immediate catostrophic failuire. They also installed some washers on some bolts on the transmission. Now, after 200 miles since they worked on the transmission it leaking more than before they worked on it.

I understood that there is a TSB on this Allison problem. Could any one point me to it? Aslo I would like to know if others have had this problem and how many visits it takes to get it fixed.

Thanks for your help.
