Hello,
Just joined today due to an issue I have with my 07 DMAX.
Problem Started after I put new 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust on it. Sounds like crickets under truck. Think It is the clamp from the down pipe, but not real sure. How tight should this clamp be? Is it real common to have this issue if it is not lined up properly? I also checked all the heat shields and looks good. Just worried about breaking the clamp. Any answers would be great. Thanks

First welcome to DP. Might want to start a new thread in Fuel systems, Air, Exhaust, & Emissions upgrade. Might get more responses there. Sound like the crossmember clearance is a big problem or could use band clamps.

Checked exhaust clearance and clamps, and that wasn't it. Had all the idlers changed. Noise is getting worse. Truck will not make any noise when it is at idle. When it does make the noise it will go away if I give it alittle throttle. looks like I am going back to the drawing board. Any help would be great.

If the truck will make the noise not moving you could get some one to power brake it or whatever need be to duplicate the noise and then try and pin point it yourself from the outside......

Thanks for the reply. I tried having someone hold the brake and we couldn't get it to work (make noise). When the noise starts there isn't enough time to get out, open hood and check things. Could it be the belt tensioner?

Could be the belt is going bad. Get a gator back. squeak gone.

X2 usually a bad belt will cause this squeaking sound. I'm not sure what kind of a squeaking sound could from the exhaust, any type of exhaust leak or something would not make a squeaking sound. Could be just a coincidence that it started after the exhaust install. But definitely make sure the exhaust is lined up with the flange from the downpipe, that was a little tricky. If you have it lined up good you shouldn't need to go too crazy with the tightening of the clamp, not to the point where you would worry about breaking it.

Thank you for everyones input. Found it. Turned out that the down pipe from the turbo was cracked. WOW! was that a pain to replace.
