Ok - scenario: drive to a pull, turn up the power boxes, drop the T-bars.... yadda yadda yadda. My question is what can be done to speed up the shifts on the tranny? I read it takes the Ally 20-30 shifts per gear for it to learn how to shift. I've noticed that once you put it in 4-Lo the tranny shifts way slow just like the first time I installed the Predator on 65. To me that slow shift is detrimental to the pull. Any suggestions?

still stock tranny? drive it as hard to the pull as you can and hope for the best. co-pilot maybe?

The only thing I THINK you could do is a better TC or the co-pilot if you can even put it on a stocker.

Since you only get one shot at the pulls, Moss is right. Put it in race mode and drive like a mad man on the way to the race. Hope that the local law man doesn’t see you. It works for me, but the wife in the chase car is not real impressed. The kids dig it though.):h

Like the man above said, CoPilot. Fast, hard, consistent shifts.

Even with the copilot, the first run at the drag strip is a throw away, right? So that would mean that the transmission has to be ready for the pull since you only get one chance.

 :funnypost
But all the learning the TCM does on the street won't that get tossed out the window as soon as you put it in 4-Lo? Just curious. It's not outside of my realm to drive like a madman, but I try to limit myself since I'm still on the stock tranny. I have to really hold myself back as the two little dudes sitting on my shoulder are screaming "faster, faster!" (Know what I mean?)

Yes, even with the co-pilot, my first run or two aways sucks. It helps to turn the shift firmness all the way up.
