ok guys,

i have read the post about hooking the subs to a stock headunit with the pac adapter that gives you rca's. now i got to reading the instructions on this thing.....i no, bad start to a question. but it talks about hooking the grey wires to one side and the white wires to the other side. now my question. i take it that they expect me to put this box behind the headunit in the dash. but all i want it for is for subs. so could i take this box and splice into the rear speaker harnes on the driverside? jus lay the box inside one of the panels and run my rca's rite there in the back seat? all i need is the voltage that goes to the speaker to make it send a signal to the subs rite? or am i way off on this one?

i no a aftermarket head unit is the ultimate way to go. but with the holidays and some birthdays and i already had the pac adapter im guna try to make this work for now.

any input is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

IIRC, there should be left and right inputs on the adaptor- you can tap in off the rear door speakers for that (under the sill plate if I remember right)- then you can run your RCA's to your amp.

You can splice into the rear speaker wires. I take it the PAC you bought is just line output converter.

IIRC? i dont know what that means.

but yea it has 6 wires and 2 rca's comming out of one end. and the the controls(?) on the other end. so i can just put the positives together and the negs together and splice into one rear speaker?

It is just easier to do it behind the head unit and then run your rca cables under the driver sill plate. You do need to wire the line output with left and right speakers. Do it that way and when you are finished, unplug one of your rca cables at your amp and listen. Big difference in sound quality, then you will know why you need both right and left channels.

i did the same thing with the pac adapter and the trigger wire doesn't work. Where is the stock sub trigger wire and can i splice into that and also trigger my aftermarket amp?
