Does anyone know if the stock wheels on the 2005 3500 SRW will fit on a 2004 2500HD? I want to replace my stock aluminum wheels and 245's with the 3500 steel wheels and 265's, if possible.

Hey, Rob -
I haven't posted that much here but FWIW I just ordered a new 05 and when it comes in, the dealer is swapping out the forged aluminum wheels with the 3500 SRW steel ones. Said they'd fit fine. Identical really except for 1/2 inch wider. I plan on running Toyo 285s. I thought the extra 1/2 inch would give me a little more safety margin when hauling the camper.

Thanks, that's just the info I needed. I'm going to go with Michelin 265's on mine and keep the stock wheels and tires on hand. Hopefully the speedometer will still be close - some say it is actually more accurate with 265's.

You didn't pay extra for the Aluminum wheels did you? Do you get to keep them when you switch out to the steelies?
:offtopic: If you get to keep your aluminum wheels, I would take those center caps off your hands.

Actually, truck came in Saturday :D I did pay the $200 when I ordered the truck for the PYO option. The dealer is swapping them out for the 3500 SRW steelies and paying me $400 for the aluminum ones. I'm not complainin. They're going to put my old caps on the new wheels, sorry - otherwise, I'd hook you up.

I don't have a pic but they look like the painted silver wheels on the base models except instead of five spoke, they're six spoke and have the bright polished caps that the forged wheels have. They're 16x7s.
