How many miles are you guys getting in between regens? The DPF is the only thing im not liking about the LMMs. Maybe its not that big of a deal, I dont own one yet.

Same here, it's hard to tell when it is doing it. Twice now I have noticed a different smell coming from the exaust but that is it.

MY 2007.5 regens one time per tank and sometime 2 unless I am pulling my 5th wheel. It always regens at least two times and sometime three. Fuel milage sucks when regens. You can watch you fuel milage and it will do down about 2 to 3 mpg during regens. I don't know if this is average!!!

About 400 miles not towing... Uses less than a gallon...

Are you guys running additives? I hear that extends the time between regens. I guess 1-2 times a tank wouldnt be too bad. Ive read on the ford forums the 6.4s are regenning more than that. I thought you knew when it was in regen mode, like blowing white smoke or something?

Average seems to be 370 miles. No idiot light to tell. Fairly new one can smell a difference. Some can tell a difference in engine sound. Only way to know is a device to display the PID data from the OBDII port. A device like the Edge Insight or MSD Dashhawk II.

if ya can smell pls go and have ur down pipe checked.
in theory better qual diesel and/or cetane boost should increase time between regens. not true in my case. also if ya stop in the middle of a regen, I found it starts over, can some with a scan tool confirm pls.

What monitor can I buy to monitor engine info like regens without voiding my warranty? My truck is stock with only 2600 miles on it.

I have the dashhawk and have it as one of my read outs. Mine regens typically every 2nd or 3rd tank. It all depends on how you drive your truck. I commute with mine so mostly highway speeds. It will regn once a tank when hauling the 5'ver though. There is a bit of a different sound and a bit of smell during the cycle. It also will continue to regen when you restart if you shut off in middle of cycle.

Regen is no big deal at all. Driven diesels all my life and aside from a smell outside the truck every 400miles or so you'd never know it was happening. Yeah it uses a little bit of fuel but people here have recorded how much and it's pretty nominal. GM did a great job of integrating this technology when compared to Dodge and Ford, just read their owner sites.

The smell I refer to is the first few times it regens and you have stopped and it was in the process of doing it. The oils and residue from manufactoing of the parts is burning off. If you smell exhaust a lot then downpipe is most likely leaking.
