Hey guys, I have a 90' GMC 3/4 ton 4x4 6.2 Diesel and I need suggestions on a problem.

I want to know if it would make sense that if my Harmonic Balancer is bad, that my motor would go out of time and start knocking and smoking at higher RPMs and lose power?

please let me know if you think that's what is wrong with my truck. Thanks

Im just confused haha, Just out of the blue this happened, I was just driving and sat a stop light, and took off and it started ticking along with the RPMs and starts blowing blue smoke when I hit second gear, then has a hesitation when im driving now.
But the dumb thing starts right up like normal but it just ticks and drives wierd I just dont know what it would be

Blue smoke is burning oil which could be something serious. If you take off your oil fill cap when the motor is running does a lot of smoke come out? This is called blowby, a little bit is ok but excessive amounts couldn't mean you have bad rings.

Theres not a lot of blow by, but on my intake where my air cleaner sits, theres some gray oil around the lip, so I wonder if I shelled out my motor with that bad injection pump throwin fuel in my oil.
