ok here's the deal. I just did the edge evo and dpf delete this week. The truck was running mint and still kind of is. All is good until I get on the pedal a little bit at about 5-6 psi of boost and feels like the truck falls on its face and then goes like hell. It was fine right after the exhaust and tuner was installed. which I am running on setting 2 (60hp). Could I need an air filter? I havent checked anything yet but I was looking for advice before I went looking for it my self. Also the truck just hit 50K on the ticker and I am going to get the tranny serviced this week, I say this because it also feels like its not downshifting properly when I get the "bog". Any ideas are appreciatted! oh I also forgot it smokes a bit when this happens too.

Are you sure you don't just mean when it downshifts? It will delay a little bit while it is shifting to a lower gear.

Ya, i know how the truck works with the turbo lag. This isnt my first diesel. When I first did this mod this wan't happening.

Cleaned it but not replaced it. I'm gunna get one tomorrow. I should stick with the paper one from the factory right?

yea stick with the factory one dont get a wix filter they suck, by putting a new filter in you should feel a big difference in the way the truck runs.. I changed mine out and it was a night and day difference in the way the truck ran the transmission shifted smoother and throttle response was much improved ;)

Settle down, you were talking about 60 hp tunes, so that kind of gave me a clue you might not have been used to the truck or didn't know how it works.

I wasn't trying to be a smart a$$ ryan, Just wanted to let you know i knew what you meant. I am convinced its the air filter now. Definately feels like its starving for air the more I drive it. I'm gunna pick one up tomorrow and post the result.

Next would be blocking the EGR or disabling it in the tune. Just monitor EGR actual position when it is bogging and smoking...

When was the last time you changed the fuel filter. Bogging down like your describing sounds like fuel starvation. I know my DIC can say 50-60% life left and I change it, drives like a different truck. Just another thought. It drove fine stock tuning because you are not needing more fuel, with the increase in power, now you need more fuel, could be starving itself. Air would do something similar as well. Chris

ok I took it to jiffy lube tonight, cause I needed and oil change anyways and got a tranny flush.I figured it was due after 50K miles. Got em both done but no Air filters in stock!! I went to the local auto zone and none there either! What is everyone changing thier filters for winter now?? Anyways it seems to drive a little bit better with the tranny service, not at 100% yet but we will see. One thing I did notice is that on the 100+miles I did this morning on the highway, that the boost seems to go up and down alot while on the throttle. I beleive this was an issue with the edge latest update. If this sounds like anyones same problem please let me know and I will download the older version to see if their is a difference. Anyways, Hopefully I will find and airfilter on my way home tomorrow and she will be running sweet! if not I will take it easy on her I guess... until I find the problem

Alright, I am now convinced that it is the tuner. I did some searching here and found that some guys are having issues with the update from edge, which I downloaded. I am going to try this and hopefully this will fix it. One good thing is that the truck finally got the maintenance it needed!

I thought that might be it too. I have changed every other filter except that so far. I have 40% left according to the dic. I have gone by that since day one and had no issues thus far. I have the egr blocker plate but I just need to find the time to install it. Edge has told me I can download the older tune or install the plate to fix it. I figure I might as well put the plate in since I all ready bought it! until then I have to suffer I guess.

:confuzeld You can suffer if you want or you can change your fuel filter, your choice.

Here is the thread that made convinced that its the tuner/ egr problem: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327646

And I guess you talked me into changing the fuel filter too!!
