hey guys i just started my first job at a chevrolet dealership being a auto tech. one of the guys i work with and who im training under, is a international master tech and this guy knows his stuff. he builds engines on the side and has a full blown shop at his house. in a month or two, me and him are gonna park my truck at his house and build my tranny. im nothing going to do anything else to this truck. only basic power adder i have is a PPE standard and tahts all i plan on running. might put a lift pump on tho, but my question is, what is the best step-up i can get to hold somewhere between 500-550HP. which company should i go thru and all would i need? i want to go thru the whole thing.

Call Mike L. Stage III should be plenty but if the funds are there go with a Stage IV.

I have a PPE stage 4, at the time I got my tranny I believe PPE was installing Suncoast stage 3 kits in there stage 4 trannys. I thought this was all I would ever need. Now I am probably getting close to the 550 HP mark. My tranny is working fine but now I want a turbo so when I do that mod I'm going to have to upgrade again. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME !!!

Well if you plan on a bigger turbo than do the stage IV the first time. If not, as in my case, Stage III is plenty. Over 550 it starts costing a lot more money than under that mark. So if you plan on building your engine go for a Stage IV. The price difference is only about 500 dollars. But i plan on taking that 500 and buying a lift pump :D
And my wallet isn't very big, so Stage III will work just fine for me:rolleyes:
Call Mike L. He will set you up, really nice guy to talk to.

well see the whole thing is...i dont plan on having this truck for a long time so i dont want to drop alot of money in it. first chance i get im gettin a new one but for now i just want to play around in it and it needs a tranny to hold the PPE. so after this mod, the only other thing is going to be a lift pump and then its done.
