Hey,

I just recently purchased lift blocks online to lower my truck 2 inches from the 6 inch lift I have on there now. I got them yesterday and when I opened them, the lift blocks looked a little funny. All sides of the blocks weren't symmetrical, I beleive its the top of the lift block that is slanted. Does anybody know why this is or is this how they come?

Those are the ones I bought.

It's slanted to keep your drive shaft at the correct angle.

Ok, thanks. So will my truck be level or will the front be lower than the back? Cause the blocks I have on there now are not slanted.

They are tapered to rotate the front of the axle up (pinion up) to help with the driveshaft angles to help driveline vibrations.

Make sure you put them on with the thicker side facing the back. Then your all good.

Wouldn't it make more sense if the thicker side was facing the front because the back is usually higher than the front? The flat side is suppose to be the bottom right?

I believe he was originally right. You want the thick part of the block in the rear so the axle will tilt up in the front. That is how mine are in on both my trucks.

Copied from Superlift instructions...Just for an example...

Install the Superlift blocks with the tall end of taper facing rearward

oo so you want me to install the high end of the block facing the back of the truck. Will there be a gap since the block is slanted?

The angle machined into the blocks is meant to lessen the impact of the drive shaft to rear axle angle when lifting a truck. The block end with less height needs to go toward the front. The taller portion of the block should face the rear.

The tappered block when properly installed will have an effect of turning the rear end, pinion side up. There will not be any gap, as the surfaces that your mounting to; pad on the bottom of the leaf spring stack, and the pad welded to the rear end are flat as are the mating surfaces of the block.
