2003 Ford Stroker cc/lb with the biggest program from Quad and NOS. He's also running a stock tranny(his fourth) See my sig to see what I'm running. Anyone here race a 6.0 with NOS. What was the outcome?

I don't want to invest in NOS or Lp for the simple fact that I will be going to a set of Twins sometime soon;) Thanks. Nick

It's gonna be close, but you should take the stripe.

Are you gonna help him pick up the torqueshift transmission parts after?

Like Juice said, It'll be close. If he can keep the tranny together long enough to complete the race, he may get you. Best way to beat him would be to do best out of 3, chances are he will be needing his 4th tranny rebuild after one good race. So you should win the 2nd and 3rd race ;)

I raced a 6.0 with a SCT, (I'm not sure the rated hp, but I think it`s about 165) and I was running the newest Stealth 165, He had me by about 2 1/2 trucks at 100 mph, I had to baby it a little due to the stock tranny. I did not let up, and pulled away to about 3500 rpm (Probably 120+). I had him by 6-8 trucks by then. I was able to convince him that I was toying with him :) He wouldn't race again. :D He believed me because I pulled away pretty easy above 100 mph. :ro)

With your built tranny, you will do much better then me, but he will have NOS, so I say it`s a toss up!

I have to assume you will run with the 285`s, other wise, he will kill you if he has stock tires.

You need a set of 4.10:1 gears, better yet, 4.30:1 if you can find them.

Thanks guys. I'm feeling a little too confident these days with my new built tranny. I've since went with smaller 265/75/16 tires and do notice a difference with them. I'll keep you guys updated on the outcome.

Damn, I forgot to mention that this Friday's race is only an 1/8. The following week will be the 1/4. Does this change anything?

Are anyone of the trucks 4 wheel drive ?
The 1/8th mile will certaintly favor a 4 wheel drive truck with lots of power.

1/8th vs 1/4 mile.....
His tranny may not last a 1/4 and you should be pulling hard :ro)

Yeah we're both 4wd. The race is tonight. Man would it be sweet to beat a drugged up truck with me only running No.2.

I say it will be close. The 6.0's don't have near the fuel we do to benefit from the NOS. It will help him but not as much as a big jet helps us.

What kind of boost do u leave at?

W/ 1/8 mile if he manually hits the NOS, your boost will get him on the line.

Hammer the tree, a couple of tenths there make a big difference at the big end.

You know it's funny. I never really looked at my boost guage when staging. I usually go by my RPM. With my new T/C I now leave at about 1800-1900 otherwise I walk through the brakes. I'll do my best to nail it just right at the tree. Thanks.

BOOYA!!!! The look on his face was priceless! I love it. I love it. I love it. His words exactly was "We're gonna put this little situation to rest now." I admit it the race was VERY close but like was said earlier if I beat him off the line I had no worries. I'll post a pic of us at the line later.

1/2 second 1/8 mile isn't very close.

1/2 second 1/8 mile isn't very close.

Especially on the big end if running 1/4 mile. Almost a full second sloooower!

And in a 1/4 mile Race, second place IS the first Looooooooooser!):h
