Truck in question is in my sig.
My abs light will come on for a while, then goes away. what could cause this? bad connection on a sensor?
Also, the brakes were replaced by the PO before i bought the truck, but the rear brakes are very grabby. almost feels like they are doing most of the work. I'm planning on tearing into them tomorow to see what i find but just seeing if anyone has any recomendations. Do these trucks have a rear load sensor? If it does, could it be acting up and telling the prop. valve to send more pressure to the rear?
Also, this is the same truck that every once in a while when hitting the brakes, the pedal pushes back really hard and i can hear a moaning noise. When it does this its really hard to stop and if you mash the pedal hard enough to stop the rear brakes lock up.

Bad sensors, wiring could be the problem. I know in some 94's they had problems with the modules that would crap out, but not sure if it extended into that year. As for the rears grabbing, they could be wet, crudded up, or more than likely, a rear seal leaking onto the pads.
does this happen at slow speed? 5 mph or under? may be your wheel speed sensors. i have a 01 1500 gasser and mine was doing the same thing minus abs light. the fix on mine was to remove wheel, rotor and brake assb. wheel speed sensor is on top. remove wheel speed sensor. clean rust from mounting surface. i used a file then emory cloth to polish as best as possible. apply white lithium grease inside sensor hole. apply same grease to o ring on sensor. insert sensor in hole part way. apply antiseize to cleaned mounting surface. put everything back together.

Yes, it happens at low speeds. Today i pulled the front brakes off and inspected everything, pulled the rear brakes off and inspected them. Cleaned up the front pads on a belt sander and cleaned out the rear drums. then flushed the whole system with new brake fluid and bled them. Its better and the rear end doesn't seem to be as grabby. I didn't have time to pull the front rotors/hub and check the abs sensors. The 4 bolts holding the hub on were really tight so i figured i'd spray them with some bp blaster and try again at a later time. One time on the way home, the brake pedal pushed back against my foot and made a moaning noise but it went away pretty quick. I did notice while having someone push the brake pedal i could see just a tiny bit of brake fluid ozzing out from where the master cylinder bolts onto the booster assy. This makes me think the o ring in the MC might be leaking past. both bolts were tight on the MC though. Atleast for now the brakes aren't grabbing and squeeling in the rear like they were.
