Eric,

I have an 01 with about 65,000 or so and believe that my belt tensioner is on it's death bed from the noise I get at idle. Bump the idle by 100 RPM or so and the noise completly goes away.

Question,

Is the idler pully replaceable with it's bearing or do you have to buy the whole assy? I'm trying to find out if it would be cheaper for me to replace it myself or have it done under warranty. I am in the $100 deductable of course.

the tensioner (part no97300857) lists for around 125.00 and is held on by just one bolt. Its very easy to change and can be had a bit cheaper depending on where you get ithttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Wink.gif. I would probably just get one and put it on and save a trip to the dealer. Its not servicable, only replaced as an assembly
