When my fuel gets down below quarter tank it takes awhile for my truck to start. It cranks for about 5 seconds and then starts. When its above that all the way to full tank starts right up. I have a AirDog 150gph fuel system on the truck and I replaced to filters about 5 months ago or so cause I though maybe they were clogged. What you guys think?

Some guys have have problems with it after they have installed a lift pump with filters. One of my buddies had this problem and it was because the pump would foam up the fuel so bad it would take a sec for the truck to start! Maybe thats it? My guess would be that..

The 150 GPH is too much for the typical street driven truck. So much fuel is being sucked up and returned back to the tank that it is aerating the fuel system. This is not a problem with more fuel in the tank, but when it is low you stand a chance of sucking a lot of air.

So I need to swap it out for a 95gph pump? Would having a 150gph pump on my truck would that give me bad fuel mileage?

It would be easier to just keep the fuel level above ¼ tank. The gallons per hour is the amount of fuel running through the pump, not the engine. The engine will use what it can and return the rest. The pump gives the engine what it wants and returns the rest. In your case the pump is sending way more back to the tank than to the engine and that is causing a lot of foam. On the plus side your fuel is super clean because it goes through the FASS filter many, many times. Like I said, keep more fuel in the tank and the foam issues is less of a problem.
