Not on my truck but on my parents new car. It's white, and somewhere somebody with a red car bumped them. It left a single red mark down the front fender. What do ya'll recommend to take it off that would not damage the factory paint and clear coat?

X2 to this.

I've got one of these from a balck car on my truck..

I've tried buffing it out but it seems that in the collision the paint from the other car was fused to my own paint.

I've tried solvents etc, but to no avail.

I have used acrisol (spelling????) before (NOT PAINT THINNER, etc.), and when that didn't work I actually used one of those "clay bars" from Meguires... worked pretty well, that took off bed liner over spray that was on my windows!!!!

get a bottle of 3M finesse-it ( white bottle ) it is the best polishing compound I've used. (t looks and feels like lotion ) It is made for use with a buffer, but will take out alot of scuffs/scratches by hand. It's what we have used at work for a long time.

Thanks for the info guys. I went to the paint store my buddy works at and he gave me some "reducer." Wiped it of in one wipe. Washed the area to get it all off then slapped a little polish on it to be sure.

you can use compound or clay. they all should do the trick if you can feel it with your fingernail it may have damaged the bumper cover... just my .02 good luck

DO NOT USE BRAKE CLEAN ON PAINT. it says right on the warnings that it will strip paint
