Well, I have a dilemma...

Now that I have everything but my house paid off, I have some extra cash doing nothing that I want to use to make my truck "something special"

I am torn between doing a suspension lift or a suspension drop. I dont know if anyone makes a lift kit for a 3500 dually 2WD. (I see them for a 2500 2WD, but not a 3500) A good buddy has a F250 2wd that he lifted and it looks as good as any 4wd.

But on the other side of the coin, there is an bright orange, dropped one-ton running around south St. Louis that I bump into every now and then. That sucker looks way cool. So I am kinda sitting on the fence wondering which way to fall. I only tow my boat, so that doesn't factor in.

BTW, all my freinds say raise it, which makes me automatically want to drop it. My kids say drop it, and the wife, she just says http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif

Whadda ya think?

What do you use it for? That can make a difference. I still say lift it though.

Assuming you don't change load capacity, dropping might be more practical as it could be easier getting in and out of the truck and loading/unloading the bed. 'Course I've seen 'em so low they look like they'll high center on a speedbump, so that can't be too practical. There's a lowered red one like yours just up the street from me that I see all the time - something about a truck that big and that low to the ground that just ain't right.

Is that "aint right" in the :ro) way or "aint right" in the -:t way?

:D

If'n I go low, it will be with an air suspension, cadillac ride with the ability to un-high center off the odd speed bump.

-nar- I only tow my boat, and my fat ass. It is my daily driver, but I only have to go 11 miles each way.

CR, sorry I was vague. I'm an east coast guy, never saw a single lowered truck growing up. Lowered to me seems to me to be a west coast thing. (yea, I know, now I go back to NY and they're all over the place) With you smack dab in the middle of the country I can see why you have a delima;)

Personally, I think your truck "as is" is a lot better looking than the 2nd photo. I'm sure whatever you choose it will come out sweet.

I say go up, not down. What the h&ll kinda truck has to stop to pump up it's air bags to get over a speed bump. Sounds like a woman pulling her skirt up to step over the curb. Nothing macho bout that.

put the ***** in the dirt have some pics of personal rigs that I owned drped in that body style, used belltech equip with tow bags in rear no trouble pulling a 33 scarab. If you deside to lift you would have to do a pre runner set now that would be different with front glass flared fenders and 12-14" of travel.
