: rancho 9000x= bad shocks for leveled front
dieselfumes57 06-01-2005, 10:34 AM If you have your t bars turned up or green keys these are not the shocks for you! They bottom out and ruin the shock, you will have to replace them every 4 to 6 months depending on driving conditions. So you better think of yellow and blue.
Slick 06-01-2005, 10:56 AM I think there is a different part # shock that is longer.

Do they bottom out or top out? I think you just need to get the right length shock.

The Original Diesel 06-01-2005, 01:28 PM You had the wrong part number. This is my second DMax and my third set of 9000s on turned up t bars..................

I have silver & black.
dieselfumes57 06-02-2005, 02:02 PM Does anybody know the correct part number then? Because i have what rancho says is the correct one. rs99288
You've got the right shocks. Need to modify the mounting. I made a new lower mount, some modify the top. Phoned Rancho on the travel problem in their shocks and they told me they sold too many of them to be a problem so it must be your truck.
dieselfumes57 06-04-2005, 01:04 PM Thats fine, rancho can keep sending me new ones every 4 to 6 months.
dieselfumes57 06-17-2005, 09:55 AM got new ones and put'em on yesterday. lets see how long these last this time
staticx04 07-10-2005, 07:15 PM i tryed makin my own mount for the bottom. And the one side kept comming lose then the bolt broke. And now the ride is gettin alittle ruff so i think the shocks are done. I'm prolly gonna go to bilstiens. Not to get anyone wrong about the ranchoos. I loved the ranchos. Nice ride. But i just can't afford to keep buying shocks.

Why would you keep buying them? They have a lifetime warrenty....
CStone 07-11-2005, 07:41 AM I raised my front 1.5", therefore I made new bottom mounts for the RS9000X's before I mounted them. (Essentially I made spacers which went under the OEM mounts.)
Working fine so far.
ShumDit 07-11-2005, 11:50 PM I purchased mine back in 02. P/N 99295 was the only one avail at the tiime for non lifted 2500 & 2500HD. Later, rancho came out w/another for the HD. Called my source (sams off road) and was informed that Rancho had recently introduced one for the HD but that it didn't have the range to support cranked tork bars and they continued to recommended the 99295. However they did offer to exchange if I wanted. I declined 'cause nary a problem. Me be happy ~
dmaxlover 07-15-2005, 07:17 PM If you guy's are making taller bottom mounts, what happens when the torsion bars are lowered all the way? Do the shocks then bottom out?
dmaxlover 07-15-2005, 07:19 PM What settings are some of you running at for normal street use, front and back?
For truck pulling, same question.
dmaxlover 07-17-2005, 04:14 PM Instead of messing around with making a new lower mount, why can't a spacer block be made to raise the lower mount up?
