Spent a long night at Get Bent Fab in Mesa AZ and came home with a new light bar and roof rack. The dmax will be chasing for the Baja 1000 coming up here in a couple weeks so I was needing more light and storage. I was looking for something unique. The bar will get a couple more lights on each side and the back for night time excursions so I should have a nice halo of light whenever i need it. Guess its time for a heavy duty alternator. Haha. Let me know what you guys think.

looks good, how did you run the power for your lights? did you drill a hole?

actually just had the bar built so i havent run the power to them yet. i have been waiting for a chance to get the other lights on as well then run them all at once. i will just drill a hole and run it under the headliner and down the pillar. pretty simple actually.

i will try to remember to get some up. to mount the bar we drilled 4 holes in the roof anyway so one more hole wont kill me. you can run lights through the rubber molding by the door if you are careful not to mess with the seal of the door but that is kind of hit and miss. drilling isnt a problem as long as it seals well. very understandable to be sketchy about drilling on your baby though. if you have satellite radio or something with a pre existing hole drilled in the roof you can run your wires parellel to that and not have to drill again.

How do you plan running all your wiring as far as all on one switch? Relays? Junction box for individual fuses?

Food for thought is the old Ford starter relays that were on the fender wells work well for higher amperage pulls. I also use a small fuse box to bring all lights into so they each have a separate fuse and run a 4ga line out from there.

Well in carters procrasinating fashion. We wired up the four lights last night. No pics of the wiring as its still a mess right now and will be tidyed up tonight (its been buggin me all day so far lol).

We used two relays and each relay runs 2 lights apiece. These lights only pull about 20 amps alone and the relays i put in are good up too 100 so i they should work out good. There is obviously a switch for each relay as well as a fuse for each relay for the lights and switch so should carter go breakin stuff like i know he likes to do it shouldnt fry anything.

For the wiring up to the lights we ran them along the weather stripping. If you pull it back and look down into it from the top there is a good size void that you can run wires in. There are two powers for the lights and the grounds are to the rack. there is still plenty of room to put wires in for the other lights we did not get to but will be soon. Ussing electrical conduit (sp?) from right where the wires are run to the rack you can hardly tell they are there.

Should have some pics tonight for everyone. should come out pretty clean once we are done here
